Director, Corporate Communications

Job description / Role

The Director, Corporate Communications will lead the external and internal PR/Communications function at the corporate level for Abdul Latif Jameel. This role, has particular focus on international markets and across Abdul Latif Jameel’s diversified business verticals.

Key Activities:
- Corporate Communications: Manages on-going media engagement activities of the group, including client side responsibility for retained agency management.
- News Generation: Takes the lead in prioritizing Company generated news items, with responsibility for all content and tonality.
- Oversees PR coordination with Company and affiliate business units
- Key Announcements: Manages key Company external announcements, such as partnerships, mergers and acquisitions
- Internal Communication: Responsible for the establishment and management, and on-going development of an internal communication mechanism.
- Website News & Media: Responsible for managing content of the News & Media section of the alj.com website

Requirements

- Corporate Communications experience in a holding company or group level environment.
- B2B Industry experience in regulated sectors such as Banking, M&A, or group level diversified businesses
- Public/ government affairs and crisis management experience.
- “Hands on”, self-directed leader, strategic mindset, with good problem solving skills, able to drive projects from concept through to completion.
- 10-15 years related experience, regional experience preferred
- Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field. Masters preferred.
- English required and Arabic an added advantage.
