Employment: Full Time

Our client is a highly reputable organisation in the UAE now looking to recruit a Director of Destination Marketing. This world wide known organisation works within arenas of Tourism, Hospitality and Media establishments.

The Director of Destination Marketing will be based in Dubai reporting into the CEO. This is a position that will essentially work to develop destination marketing and promotional strategies in close collaboration with marketing and communications as well as other internal/ external parties within the organisation globally.

Key Responsibilities
- There is a high element of managerial responsibilities in order to direct and guide. This will include leading and directing reports and providing the necessary guidance and support to help them achieve the departments’ strategic and operational goals and objectives.
- Employee Development: Ensure the on-going development of direct reports, set development objectives, and follow up on their training and development programs.
- Performance Management: Lead performance planning and performance evaluations of direct reports, and recommend linkages of performance evaluation results with my client’s reward and development programs in line with established policies and procedures.
- HR requirements: Identify the division’s human resources requirements and provide recommendations on levels of rewards, promotions, transfers and career progressions for direct reports.
- Department Operational Needs: Ensure that all technology, procurement, and other administrative needs of the division are identified, offered and maintained in a manner that facilitates day to day operations and supports the achievement of the division’s goals.
- Division Strategy & Objectives: Contribute to setting the division’s strategy, goals, and objectives, and ensure the cascading of such to own department as well as to employees’ individual goals and objectives.
- Division Performance: Recommend KPI’s and performance objectives for monitoring the department’s performance, and monitor results against objectives to identify variances and recommend mitigating actions.
- Policies & Procedures: Lead the development and continuous improvement of the department’s policies, procedures and processes in line with best practices, local regulations, and my client’s strategy.
- Division Business Plans & Budget: Direct the department’s budgeting process, and provide the Executive Director with the department’s periodic business plans and budget forecast. Monitor the department’s operational budget and investigate variances.
- Compliance: Ensure the department’s compliance with my clients corporate excellence standards, as well as regulatory, risk management, and safety regulations.
- Destination Marketing Strategy: Facilitate the development of destination marketing and promotion strategies in close collaboration with marketing and communications as well as other internal/external parties within my client.
- Marketing Campaigns: Oversee the development and execution of Marketing Campaigns across source markets and segments in alignment with tourism strategic objectives as well as branding guidelines.
- Monitors destination marketing campaigns performance, assess outcomes against performance metrics and recommend remedial action plans.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced professionals from a particular Tourism, Marketing or Hospitality background within a strategic destination marketing capacity. International exposure is also valuable given the magnitude of the position.

Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of Marketing strategies; Brand management; Advertising; Integrated and effective campaign activation management – specifically in Tourism and/or Destination industry.
- Strategic planning, budgeting and performance management.
- Organisational management and P&L management experience.
- Research techniques; more specifically understanding of requirements to be commission and research outcomes for incorporation into programmes.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant work experience.
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Advertising or relevant.
