Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The purpose of the role is to provide leadership and strategic direction to the HSE Consulting division of the Group to enable it to be seen as the market leader with a reputation for first class customer service and highest quality.

Specific Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the HSE Consulting strategic plan.
- Oversee all resourcing requirements to ensure that the correct skill sets and resources are available to meet the strategic plan within acceptable utilization targets.
- P&L ownership with Accountability for revenue and profit of the HSE Consulting division.
- Develop revenue and profitability targets in conjunction with the MD and deliver to these targets with regular reporting to the MD on revenue, profit and budgetary performance with real focus on utilization targets.
- Identify new business opportunities with the strategic aims of using consulting services as a lead-in to longer term managed solutions for our clients.
- Drive thought leadership within the HSE division and deliver professional briefings and oral presentations to clients, potential clients and industry partners.
- Maintain and monitor competition and market trends.
- Support the MD by supplying HSE Consulting resources for pre-sales support activities.
- Review all significant HSE consulting bids and proposals. Make bid / no bid decisions based on strategic requirements of the Group.
- Monitor quality of output from department members, reviewing key documents and deliverables and ensuring Quality Assurance principles are adhered to.
- Constantly look for ways to improve the efficient operation of the division and the quality and timely delivery of any outputs.
- Publish a monthly performance report to the MD.
- To assist in forecasting business and market needs.
- To propose new solutions to business issues and assist the development of new business
- Manage Senior HSE Consulting staff through clearly defined roles, responsibilities and objectives.
- Carry out annual performance reviews for direct reports. Establish individual development plans to ensure maximum utilization of consultants.

Requirements

- At least 15 years detailed consulting of HSE systems and business solutions.
- Possess a sound knowledge and experience in HSE in the Oil and Gas (essential), Energy and Transport Sectors.
- Strong business development, management, planning and leadership skills
- Customer service oriented with excellent business and communication skills
- Successful experience managing the P&L of a project, or division as well as demonstrable and proven financial literacy
- Middle East experience highly desirable
