Employment: Full Time

This is an interesting and challenging opportunity for a MICE segment specialist. This role would appeal to someone who is target driven, a hunter and keen to develop their skills – across their segment and in people management. A key focus will be to work with the Head of Sales in directing and developing the team to maximise the sales for a number of hotels in the UAE.

Based in the UAE regional office and reporting to the Area Head of Sales, the successful person will be able to work in a competitive environment, under pressure and is committed to deliver through exceptional account management, team mentoring and new business development.

Additionally, they will be able to demonstrate a strategic yet flexible approach, resilience managing internal and external demands and has a pioneer spirit.

Key qualities & experience will include:
- Will be or will have recently worked in a cluster role or, if not, within a large, city centre hotel which has big meeting and event space.
- Has worked in and delivered results within a competitive corporate location, with city centre hotels: e.g UK/ London, Paris, Berlin, Frankfurt, NYC, Hong Kong
- Whilst current or previous work experience in the UAE would be preferable, a strong MICE specialist keen to move internationally e.g. from London/UK, Europe, Asia or Australia will be considered
- Has worked in or is working with one of the big international hotel groups: Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Starwood, Accor, Radisson
- In-depth understanding of both historically strong and emerging key feeder markets is essential. Can demonstrate excellent contacts and understanding of market trends and competitor locations
- Knowledge of the RFP process expected
- Will have managed a team of people of at least 4 people. They will be managing a team of 7.
- Has worked in 4* deluxe/5* hotels, but ideally understands multi-branding
- Excellent revenue acumen with an analytical approach
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with internal and external stakeholders. Fluent in written and spoken English essential.
- Combines authority with diplomacy and resilience to work within a multi-cultural environment
