Employment: Full Time

Objective:

The Director of Spa will establish, direct and maintain the standards of So Spa's,and service in all interactions with guests and staff. Consistency and understanding when implementing So Spa's business objectives, as they relate to operations, finance, human resources, marketing and health & safety is imperative. Executing the business objectives and verbiage to all employees is ongoing, whilst also ensuring that all financial and marketing opportunities are maximized. Hire, train, and manage team members to be accountable for their actions and to be conversant in the business objectives. Monitor activities and issues daily.

Maintain current knowledge of all spa services, pricings, offerings, schedules, specials and other services provided at the spa and competitive spas. Set the example by using proper etiquette and professionalism at all times. Look for every opportunity to suggest new and enhanced guest experiences, to encourage positive staff behaviour, and to direct effectively. Communicate housekeeping and maintenance needs to the relevant departments and ensure they are actioned. Assist team members where needed in all aspects of the business operation. Practice methods, which comply with health and hygiene guidelines and ensure cleanliness meets Standard Operating Procedures in all areas of the spa.

- Establish achievable department sales budgets and forecasts, for approval by the Director of Operations.
- Present and review performance numbers to the General Manager on a daily basis.
- Review analysis of data pertaining to financial business performance on a weekly basis with the DOO.
- Conduct interviews for all spa applicants; proactively recruit new talent and resources.
- Conduct disciplinary procedures when necessary, ensuring all paper work is completed on time and accurately.
- Proactively schedule, supervise and conduct employee new-hire and on-going training programs.
- Practice professionalism in every situation with management, guests and employees, treating each person with respect and integrity.
- Communicate effectively to ensure optimum performance and consistent service between the Hotel and the spa, facilitating daily meetings with spa staff and weekly meetings with the DOO.
- Work in conjunction with other hotel departments on marketing, sales and accounting.
- Assist supervisors with management issues and employee development.
- Ensure that all potential and real Hazards are reported immediately and rectified.

Requirements

- At least 2 years' Managerial experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated success in revenue achievement and expense management; experience in budget development and financial analysis
- An extremely detailed oriented individual who is willing to get involved at every level; a creative, self-starter who thinks outside of the box; broad exposure to Finance, Human Resources, Operations
- Excellent customer service skills. Able to demonstrate excellent people & communication skills. Able to work calmly & confidently under pressure.
- Flexible - and able to multi-task, can work with an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions.
