Job description / Role
Our client, the NOC for Abu Dhabi, has several open vacancies for Drilling Fluids Engineers / Mud Engineers to work on multiple large scale offshore development projects.
The job holder will be directing operations carried out on assigned drilling or work over rigs, working closely with the Site Specialist Engineers, and ensuring the correct chemicals are available for daily operations as required. Operations will cover mud programs for exploration, development and work over wells.
Key activities will involve:
- Review of daily drilling reports to establish well status and therefore fluid requirements, and determination of any adjustments to the program.
- Data collection including formation pressure, inclination, fluid contents etc
- Highlighting to Project Management any problem areas and implementing solutions using expertise gained from experience
- Supervision of field services company and liaison with company coordinator to ensure correct implementation of client fluid and drilling programes, putting in place high QA/QC standards across the project
Requirements
Candidates must be qualified to degree level in Chemical Engineering or other closely related subject.
Previous experience in a similar role in the industry is required, and those with an understanding of the UAE, especially ADNOC projects will be preferred.
