Employment: Full Time

As part of the development of the Systems & Infrastructure Department activities, our client is looking for an Electro-Mechanical Engineer based in his Dubai office

This Engineer will be part of the development, from design to supervision of commissioning, of the electro-mechanical systems that the company is designing, specifying, tendering and supervising until ramp-up, whether part of the Passenger Terminal Project that the company is carrying out, or as independent project carried out for other engineering and architectural companies.

The electro-mechanical projects are covering the following systems:
- Baggage Handling Systems and Logistics,
- Cargo Handling Systems and Logistics,
- Passenger Boarding Bridges and related Equipment

And more generally all electro-mechanical systems needed to handle any kind of goods inside the airport.

Our client is carrying out multiples projects of various size and complexity. Depending upon the size and localization of the project, the Engineer may be fully responsible of the whole project or part of a team that will design the system.

In all cases, the Engineer will have to coordinate with Engineers and Architects from other trades, located in Dubai or other places in the world

The Engineer help to make sure that the products of the company is responsible for work properly and that they meet the client’s needs. The Engineer is able to work either on new infrastructures or on optimization of existing ones with respect to design and Contractor’s supervision.

The Engineer responsibilities for this position are:
- General functional analysis and design of a system according to the Planning Specification
- Introduce the design and ensure the good understanding of clients wishes and needs
- Making improvements to and offering advice about operational procedures
- Ensure the technical and economic feasibility
- Scheduling and co-ordinating work to tight deadlines
- Liaising with installation/project engineers : Translation of the need for logistical terms towards teams
- Supervising engineering and technical staff
- Ability to sign contracts with subcontractors
- Providing technical support : internal and clients
- Ensuring that equipment works to its specification
- Investigating problems, diagnosing/repairing faults
- Writing reports and documentation
- Introduce and explain the project to clients Position
- The Engineer will report to the Head of the Electro-Mechanical department in Dubai

During the initial period, he/she will be assigned to a large project for which he/she will have to write the functional specification of the system. The Functional report manager will be the leader of a small team of engineers that will help write the specifications.

Hence, the Engineer shall have good technical skills, capacity of understanding the requirements from the Stakeholders of the project, capacity of explaining the pros and cons of each option, capacity of describing the operation of the system and managing skills.

Requirements

- Engineer diploma from a recognized University
- Minimum 10 years in design of BHS or as a minimum Material Handling Systems in Logistics or Automotive Industry, or similar Industry in a position within an engineering firm or a Contractor or Final User (Airports…)
- Good communication skill
- Availability for short term trips in the world
- Fluency in English
