Employment: Full Time

JOB PURPOSE:

Subject Matter Expert (SME) on environmental protection across the Company. Direct the planning and implementation of
all aspects of environment enhancement and protection. Provides expert advice and studies to the Company on
environmental issues. Develop and implement standards, policies, procedures and guidelines to enhance environment
protection and pollution control performance of the Company. Carries/Supervise Environmental Impact Assessment of
Company projects and facilities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Job Specific Accountabilities
- Acts as the technical reference authority for all environmental related issues. Verifies and confirms compliance of relevant company operations (e.g. usage of chemical) with the standards, laws and Code of Practices.
- Lead and participate in the development and the revision of the technical environmental standards.
- Contributes to overall planning and budget preparation for the Environment Team, OHE Department & HSE Division. Prepare work plans and budget for own function.
- Designs, coordinates and participates in environment baseline studies (EBS's), impact assessments (EIA's) and reviews of COMPANY's operations and practices in liaison with line management concerned. Identifies necessary actions to improve such practices and follows up to ensure timely implementation of agreed recommendations.
- Responsible for maintaining COMPANY's EMS (ISO 14001) and take leading and/or support roles in auditing, training and reviewing the system requirements to all company disciplines in coordination with HSE Compliance Assurance Team.
- Provides support to the Environment Manager on environmental aspects. Provide advice and guidance to HSE Management, Business and Support Units on relevant environmental issues relevant to all aspects of operations and projects at concept, execution and close-out stages.
- Develops performance measures for environment protection and pollution control in all areas of Company's operations viz. sea and land contamination, effluent discharge, atmospheric emissions, waste management etc.
- Communicates and implements the same across the organization. This includes but not limited to, emissions inventory, fugitive emissions, waste inventory and projection, etc.
- Prepares, recommend and monitor environmental performance indicators and KPIs and advise on methodologies for improved sustainable performance.
- Promotes environmental awareness throughout the COMPANY and ensure access to world-class knowledge and techniques of environment management and practice.
- Contributes to preparation of training objectives and course outlines on environment related training on a pan-COMPANY basis.
- Contributes to the development of the environmental sections of the COMPANY HSE Management System. Introduce and establish corporate standards, procedures, codes of practice and guidelines for environmental aspects.
- Reviews all new operational modifications, policies/practices, and new projects/modifications to ensure that
- environmental issues have been considered and there are in compliance with COMPANY policy, guidelines, standards, ADNOC Code of Practices and Laws of the Land.
- Ensures that all environmental incidents are reported, investigated and recommendations followed.
- Encourage timely reporting of incidents to enable control and minimization along with providing technical advice and effective participation, reporting and follow up as and when required.
- Supports Emergency Response Center (ERC) as and when needed during emergencies, exercises/drills and weekly ERC duties as per the governing procedures and policies.
- Plans, conduct and follow-up on Environmental audits across all COMPANY projects in liaison with HSE Compliance Assurance Team. Manage the requisite audits and studies by third parties.
- Supervises the audit/inspection of the environment impact of contractors' works and projects.
- Establishes and maintain contact with external agencies, professional bodies and other companies to share information and ideas and obtain necessary support, suggestions for environmental and sustainability issues.
- Participates in regional and international conferences/organizations/symposiums/seminars activities concerned with the Gulf environment and works with them as applicable (Eg. Society of Pet. Engineers HSE conference, Global Gas Flare Reduction Forum etc).
- Evaluates and introduces Best Available Technologies (BAT) that result in improved and enhanced environmental performance in aspects of waste management, air emissions, effluent discharges, etc.
- Prepares and provide required environmental input to monthly, annually HSE reports, and Sustainability reports in liaison with Performance and Planning Team and Sustainability Advisors.

- Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets
- Provide input for preparation of the Section / Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
- Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section's / Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management
- Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section / Department in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
- Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reports
- Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal
- Regular contact with HSE Business unit.
- Frequent contact with various division, i.e Audit Assurance Division, Projects & Engineering and Operation Support.
- Regular contact with ADNOC Group Companies for sharing knowledge and exchange information.

External
- Frequent contact with Technology Providers.
- Contact with 3rd party HSE Study Consultants/ Vendors.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 5 - 6 years of experience, including at least experience in in the field of learning, training administration or related area, ideally in a corporate environment and a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas.
- Focus or experience in Environmental Chemistry, Marine Ecology, Biology, Biodiversity, etc.
- Knowledge/ experience with developing and implementing management systems such as: IS0 14001, ISO 14064, ISO 26000, GRI standards, etc.
- Designing and applying advanced technological and methodological practices for learning.
- Relevant functional and professional skills, good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in English.
