Environmental Health & Safety Officer

Job description / Role

Our client, a long established and respected family conglomerate is currently looking for an EH & Safety Officer.

The environmental, health and safety (EHS) officer is responsible for all aspects of an organization’s compliance with occupational and environmental laws and regulations. He/she handles any regulatory questions employees or managers may have, as well as analyzes activities at every company site to ensure complete regulatory compliance.

Requirements

- Recognised Health & Safety Qualification or Diploma or equivalent formal qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as officer in a similar environment.
- Additional qualifications as per UAE regulations, if applicable
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
- Fire Safety Accreditation.
- Any other relevant safety accreditation
- Minimum 3 years work experience in a blue/white collar mixed environment
- Familiar with Dubai rules & regulations regarding environment, health & safety.
- ISO exposure
- Diver’s Licence
- Computer literate. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, e.g. Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Knowledge of International standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001.
- Tact and diplomacy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Discretion and respect for confidentiality and privacy
- Integrity and honesty.
