Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Great opportunity for an ambitious buyer to step up or an experienced senior buyer to work with a hugely successful food & beverage distributor who offers genuine prospects to develop and progress your career.

The successful candidate needs be able to demonstrate all of the below requirements as these will make up a typical day within this role. It is fast paced and need an experienced person to come in and hit the floor running, pick up on existing relationships and make new contacts which can impact the business in a positive manner.

* Supplier negotiation (Cost base reduction and improvement of payment terms)
* Implement a supplier development plan to improve the performance in the areas of cost, quality, lead time etc.
* Analyses market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability, and prepares market analysis reports.
* Develops a system to evaluate vendor quotations that utilises appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service
* New product and supplier sourcing (local and international)
* Build and nurture relationships
* Oversee and monitor supply chain activities to insure optimal stock holding
* Coordinating projects
* Contracting of products and services
* Attend meetings
* Redundant stock management
* Meeting deadlines

Requirements

* Previous experience of the foodservice industry is a must. We are looking to speak to food industry professionals who can demonstrate a strong procurement/buying knowledge.
* Min.4 years experience in Purchasing with proven track record of CBR
* An accomplished negotiator with a demonstrated ability to win value
* Ability to take a proactive approach to overcome challenges and achieve results
* Detail oriented
* Excellent communication skills, both oral & written
* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
* Past solid work experience in a purchasing function (in food & beverage)
* Business awareness and commercially focused.
* Leadership and strong management skills.
* Ability to devise solutions to complex problems
* "Hands on” approach to all tasks
* Min. 2 years work experience in the GCC
* Experience in Sage would be beneficial
