Expert - Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

Job description / Role

- Reporting to the VP Innovation Center, you will be responsible to manager Borouge's Patents to be in line with the updated and recognized international agreements and standards for intellectual property rights.
- Develop and manage Patent Portfolios together with Projects and Marketing Center/Sales Offices to create IPR Strategy for each MC area aligned with Borouge overall strategy.
- Communicate, coordinate and prepare Patent Application; at which preparation of one or more claims that define the invention and meet relevant patentability requirements.
- Provide with consultation at the time of assessing new technologies to be considered for Patent Application.
- Ensure proper placement of requirements as per the extent of the exclusive rights in the targeted countries, and according to the national laws and international agreements, which result in patent granting for Borouge.
- Ensure Freedom to Operate (FTO) ti mitigate operational risk for Borouge.

Requirements

- Postgraduate degree (Master or PhD) or Science / Technical area relevant to Petrochemical industries preferably with Patent Attorney qualification from a national or regional Patent Office.
- At least 5 years of working experience in IPR Management positions with 10 years in IPR.
- Sound knowledge of international trading and manufacturing laws and regulations
- Excellent understanding of the Intellectual Property Rights processes
- Knowledge in WTO regulations, specifications and standards
- Hands on technical and R&D Operations, PP or PE material science and applications.
