Employment: Full Time

Middle East Field Sales Executive- Academic/Publishing Education Sector (Great Career Development)

To grow the Company brand and achieve financial targets through developing and maintaining sales of the Company portfolio to academic and public libraries within the Middle East.

Flexibility to travel is essential as this role will require travel throughout the territory, and some travel outside the territory for conferences. Travel may also on occasion take place over weekends.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a set territory and conduct regular existing and prospective customer meetings
- Prioritise opportunities and efficiently follow through all stages of the sales cycle to conclusion.
- Maximize sales through identifying customers’ needs, matching Gale products to those needs, preparing and delivering sales presentations, writing proposals and closing sales
- Represent Gale at key industry events such as conferences, exhibitions and trade shows
- Cultivate and maintain extensive product knowledge of a large and growing product portfolio
- Provide detailed sales reports and maintain customer and sales information via CRM systems
- Source opportunities and solicit information from public and academic librarians, subject librarians, academic teaching staff and researchers through effective questioning and listening
- Work closely with the rest of the sales team and with other departments such as marketing, customer services, customer care, sales support and product development by offering market feedback and intelligence

Requirements

- Must be educated to Degree level with substantial field sales experience.
- Must have a proven successful sales background, consistently over achieving targets.
- A customer-focused attitude with a consultative approach to selling.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage relationships between key stakeholders such as academics and librarians.
- Flexibility to adapt sales approach to suit the customer and product.
- Strong organisational skills with an enthusiastic and self-motivated approach.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to absorb and maintain extensive product knowledge.
- Proficient MS Office skills..
- Fluency in English..
- Whilst not essential, Arabic language skills would be a benefit.
- Must have Field Sales or Business Development experience of the Academic Publishing within the Middle East.
- Must have Field Sales experience within the library market of the Academic Sector in the UAE and Middle East.
- Must have Experience of and confidence in negotiating complex contracts in diverse countries.
- Must have strong Communication and Presentation skills.
