Job description / Role
The job holder is responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following:
- Reporting on key performance measures for the business on a weekly and monthly basis investigating and explaining key variances
- Work closely with Operations and Marketing teams, supporting with insightful sales / margin / promotional analysis ensuring he team understands the information
- Produce ad hoc financial analysis to understand impact of operational decisions highlighting where corrective action required
- Financial analysis for new product launches / trials
- Ensure cost and retail price file is accurately maintained
- Continually improve both the way information is presented and the interpretation of results and trends.
- Track all LPOs before commitments are made to suppliers highlighting unexpected spend to Commercial Manager
- Assist Commercial Manager on month end process - review GL entries v commitments made, highlight any variance to overheads budget
- Identifying and addressing risks and opportunities v budget
- Review Stream & Store P&Ls and highlight any variances vs Budget and PY
- Support the Commercial Manager in preparing monthly forecasts and annual budget
- Support Commercial Manager in completing monthly statistics for Franchiser and calculate royalty payment
Requirements
- 2 - 3 years’ experience in commercial/analytical roles in Retail/FMCG
- Newly or part qualified Accountant
- Advanced skills in Excel and use of Business Intelligence Analytical tools
- Strong communicator at all levels
- Ability to manage large volumes of data and develop models to manipulate data efficiently
- Attention to detail - maintain integrity of data and ensure all analysis is robust and accurate
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Food & Beverage Sector
- Working experience in the UAE
- Knowledge of local market environment & trends, government policy and regulatory requirements
- Experience of budgeting & forecasting for multiple business units
