Finance Controller

Job description / Role

Working for an instantly recognizable organisation within the movement and vertical transport sector, this role has become available due to an internal promotion and involves a very high volume of analysis and reporting across the MEA & APAC regions. It is therefore highly deadline driven and requires an experienced individual who takes a very hands-on and proactive approach and remains disciplined and structures in their day to day activities.

With a desirable background from “The Big 4”, where financial expertise from clients within the construction and engineering industries has been proven, the ideal candidate will be well versed with both IFRS and IAS knowledge. Acting as the main point of contact for finance within the Business Unit, you will regularly interact with all Country Finance Mangers to facilitate budget management and analysis, project estimate analysis and monitoring of all variances. These reports will then be used to assist the Senior Management team to make key business decisions.

This role will also provide the successful Finance Controller with an opportunity to further enhance the finance function and create more efficient ways of managing the flow of information across the regions. It is therefore essential that you possess an exceptionally high standard of excel (including pivot tables), scenario driven analysis and financial modeling. Exposure to Power BI, Visual Basic for Applications and SAP is also viewed as a highly advantageous. Supporting a team of 3 Accountants, The Financial Controller will ensure they are each skilled within their specialist area and oversee their day to day activities to consistently deliver a high standard of financial information.

Requirements

Candidates considered for this role must be from either “The Big 4” or construction and engineering industry and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in such. You will also be finance degree educated and possess a relevant qualification such as ACCA or CMA. You will be analytical and strategic in your thinking and accustomed to a highly deadline driven environment with excellent excel and SAP exposure.
