Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Corporate, business unit and analytical reporting:
- Monitoring of key performance metrics at corporate and business unit level
- Working with business unit heads to further develop effective and meaningful business line reporting
- Evaluating relative platform/investment contributions (including all returns, fees and external/internal costs) according to standardised metrics for existing and pipeline transactions
- Ad hoc management and Board reports
- Benchmarking relevant metrics to comparable firms to assess relative efficiency and operational improvement opportunities

Managing the budget and financial planning process:
- Compilation of annual investment plan and corporate budget in conjunction with each of the business unit heads
- Quarterly re-assessment of above based on actual investment and corporate activities and performances to date, and those estimated for the remainder of the year
- Updating the firms longer term strategic business plan based on the above

Enterprise Resource Planning:
- Evaluation of current systems across corporate and investment accounting/reporting requirements
- Project management of revisions/upgrades to such
- Ensuring business processes utilise systems in the most effective and automated manner
- Ensuring applications are capable of maintaining knowledge in the system and comprehensive flexible reporting
- Documentation and evaluation of business processes and work flows within finance, operations and treasury with a view to maximising efficiency, controls and automation

Portfolio company support related to:
- Financial management (controls, reporting standards)
- Corporate governance (authorities, responsibilities)
- Business processes (efficiencies, automation)

Based in Dubai and reporting to the Finance Director/CFO, this is a new role with the objective of further improving the quality and depth of management reporting with respect to both investment performance and investment management activities, and in so doing spearheading a number of key projects that will form the basis of a scalable, world class financial and operational infrastructure.

The role will have a relatively high profile within the organisation, and will involve working closely with senior management and the investment group, as well as the finance team. In due course, this will extent to portfolio companies and investment partners to support the development and maintenance of equally high standards of financial management and corporate governance in the broader organisation eco-system.

Requirements

- At least 10 years of relevant experience within an investment and/or transaction environment (banking, asset management), preferably with a top tier investment bank, private equity or Big 4 corporate finance experience.
- Strong business process experience in a finance/operations investment setting with solid knowledge of best-in-class systems and reporting
- Strategic thinker who also possesses strong analytical and communication skills
- Top tier financial modelling and presentation skills
- Internationally qualified chartered accountant (or equivalent)
- Collaborative working style with strong project management skills
- Self-motivated and able to take the initiative on matters requiring attention
- Ability to prioritise work load in order to meet project/reporting deadlines
- Able to effect positive change having a clear sense of objectives and requirements, and capability to lead by example and teamwork.
- Personal integrity, sound judgment and an honest and ethical approach
