Finance Manager (DN.09 equivalent)
Alpha Flight Group Limited is a leading provider of innovative catering and retail services at international airports seeks to recruit a Finance Manager for its joint venture company at Sharjah International Airport.
The business is a dynamic food service company employing nearly 500 employees, operating both Business to Business services as well as a wide range of generic consumer food and beverage outlets.
We are looking for a Finance Manager with the leadership and problem solving skills to manage the entire Finance department.
The Positions: Direct, control and administer the financial activities of the organization, and provide the General Manager and the Board of Directors with financial assessment and information which will ensure planning and budgeting activities meet corporate goals. The position reports to the General Manger with a functional responsibility to the Group CFO.
Job Outline:
- Establish and direct the organization's financial administrative activities and operational procedures to ensure the organization's profits are protected.
- Direct the collections of financial and accounting information and the preparation of budgets reports, forecasts, and monthly reporting.
- Co-ordinate the design, implementation and monitoring of upto date or computerized accounting and administrative systems.
- Direct and co-ordinate economic research major feasibility studies involving detailed financial analysis, and estimates of future returns on proposed investment.
- Give assessments of proposals involving financial expenditure and of the financial status of operational projects.
- Control activities such as credit policy, cash flow and investment policy, costing and expense control, audits as well as the administration of contracts, insurance arrangements.
- Represent the organization in dealings with the organization's bankers, and others as required.
- Make policy decisions and accept responsibility for operations, performance of staff achievement of targets and adherence to budgets, standards and procedures.
- Control the selection and training of finance staff, establish lines of control and delegate responsibilities to subordinate staff.
- Conducts audits on payroll, sales and purchase ledger to ensure the accuracy an authenticity of income and outgoings.
- Administer approved general accounting practices throughout the company to ensure accounting, financial and operating reports accurately reflect the conditions of the business and provide reliable information for control and management purposes.
- Ensures that accounting transactions are in line with the policies and procedures and in accordance with IFRS.
- Participate in or direct the development of accounting methods and administer approved accounting procedures.
- Supervise the maintenance of company ledgers, prepare departmental, divisional operating and financial statements.
- Prepare special accounting reports and cost statements as required.
- Provide proper records and accounts in respect of all payments due to the Airport Authority in respect of the Concession Agreement.
Salary and Benefits: We offer an attractive salary, commensurate to the local market. This position is based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
Requirements
- A university degree in a finance discipline and a recognised professional accounting qualification.
- At least 8 years financial experience in the catering/hospitality industry with a minimum of 4 years at management level.
- Knowledge of relevant local legal rules and procedures
