Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose:
To prepare the accounts and ensure maintenance of financial controls for the RMDK UAE. Also ensure that all local statutory compliances are adhered to.

Key Accountabilities:
• To adhere to all policy & procedures as established and set out in divisional accounting manual
• To ensure accurate accounting records are kept to provide prompt and reliable management information for UAE operations
• Developing and executing the financial reporting of the businesses using Axapta
• Help develop new businesses in a start up situation
• Attend to legal, tax, company secretarial and statutory matters arising in UAE and ensure timely compliance to all Local statutory compliances.
• Take part in the development of our Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system
• Manage completion of month-end and year-end reporting to division and in line with Regional requirements and timetables
• Preparation of budgets, forecasts and plans and monitor performance against same
• Monitoring of policies, practices and procedures to ensure adequate financial and internal controls are maintained over the companies’ assets and activities.
• To ensure the companies operate within their financial facilities and that any additional funding requirements are promptly advised to the Regional Finance Director.
• To intervene at any level, where financial policies and procedures are not being followed
• Monitor and report financial performance through a system of KPI’s, targets and appraisals
• To access and manage credit risk, improve debtor management and maximise cash collection
• Ensure stock takes are carried out as per company requirements and results promptly analysed and processed after appropriate investigations.
• In conjunction with Regional IT, ensure all data processing and management information required by the business is provided on a timely and accurate basis.
• Involvement in assessing the competence of Finance and Admin staff whether for recruitment, promotion, training, discipline or dismissals and to manage the appraisal process of such staff.
• To liaise with Company’s Bankers, Auditors and other professional advisers and to maintain major customer/ supplier/partner relationships as required
• Other areas of responsibility will include: import/export administration including L/C’s, licensing, contracts and agreements, capital investment appraisals.
• Ad hoc reporting internally and externally
• Be aware of and adhere to the Company’s Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

Qualifications:
• Qualified accountant with 5 years + post qualifying experience in Middle East
• Experience of working for a multinational preferably in an industrial or construction industry

Knowledge & Experience:
• Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles
• Understanding of local rules and regulations and local accounting practices and tax matters
• Knowledge of economic principles
• Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
• Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations
• Knowledge and experience of related computer applications
• Experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, taxation and providing financial advice

Skills and Personal Qualities:
• Good knowledge of ERP software and strong accounting and reporting background in a multi site operation.
• Advanced Excel user and proficient with other MS office software
• Capability to work under stress and as a team-member. Have to be able to communicate well at all levels of employees
• Fluency in English

Specific local requirements:
• Thorough knowledge of local (Federal/ state) statutory financial laws and regulations and strict compliance.
