Finance Manager - Financial Services

Job description / Role

Excellent opportunity to lead a Finance function in a small investment company based out of Abu Dhabi. My client's main focus are those companies requiring support through debt financing and are stand out from the market due to their focus, speed and quality of execution.

- Direct implementation of financial policies, systems, procedures and controls and review them periodically to ensure continuing relevance and compliance
- Coordinate the planning and budgeting activity across all functions
- Present the consolidated budget to the CEO by ensuring that it is aligned to the business’s strategic objectives.
- Ensure that the budget is set to achieve the best possible financial results considering the acceptable level of risk
- Ensure efficient and effective management of funds to accomplish the objectives
- Ensure a reliable cash flow projection process is in place
- Minimize costs while maximizing efficiency and productivity of the resources to maximize overall profitability and sustainability.
- Efficiently invest the excess liquidity to enhance overall profitability of the company.
- Ensure borrowing facilities are in place well in time for future funding requirements to support core business activity.
- Ensure appropriate investment policy in place and returns are in line with the risk levels
- Manage the organization’s investment portfolio by regularly analysing various investment options
- Continuously review financial statements, books of accounts to ensure that they are prepared and maintained accurately and in line with international accounting standards and Central Bank guidelines.
- Contribute to development of business performance indicators and proactively identify areas for corrective action by leading and managing the annual budgeting and forecasting and monitoring performance against budgets on a periodic basis
- Share the management report with the CEO on a monthly basis
- Manage and ensure the Weekly dashboard is delivered to the management team on time and accurate.
- Ensure that all the audits (external, internal, Central Bank) are satisfactorily performed with clean audit reports
- Finalisation of audit reports by clearing off all queries
- Responsibility for presenting the reports to the audit committee
- Supervising IT function by ensuring IT policies and procedures are developed and implemented.
- Adequate IT infrastructure is in place to support the business requirements.
- Ensure automation of all financial reports.
- Ensure external review of the system is done periodically.
- Ensure effective controls related to internal procedures are in place.

Requirements

- 5-10 years experience in Finance and Accounting with at least 3 years in the Banking/Finance sector
- At least 3 years UAE experience
- Candidate must be western educated
- Previous Leadership Role and ability to drive a team forward.
