Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Charterhouse are currently supporting one of our clients, within the logistics and shipping sector, for the search of a Finance Manager. Linking to a recent joint venture, this is a newly created role, that in turn, will support the company CEO and a Financial Controller within the group structure.

This role shall take ownership and oversight of all financial accounting processes, at a transactional level, whilst also finalising all monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reporting packs within the entity. This shall link also to the management of any audit and governance policy, matching all group compliance and external audit requirements.

In conjunction, the Finance Manager shall be required to introduce and oversee strong and accurate analytical reporting which shall facilitate MIS tools and reporting capabilities, along with insight to both operational and/or business development, from a costing, feasibility and pitch prospective. In turn, the role shall require a dynamic dimension of planning and forecasting processes and reporting, to develop strong and robust policy and governance within the organisation.

From a compliance point of view, the Finance Manager shall be required to implement and execute IFRS-related financial reviews, across the statements, whilst also developing controllership and accounting standards where required.

Requirements

The client will look to recruit a professionally qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA) whom is able to demonstrate up to ten years of experience career-to-date. Due to the start-up nature of the operation, the successful candidate shall be required to come from a shipping and/or maritime background, designed to deliver a strong baseline of commercial understanding and an insight to any financial nuances.

The client will ideally look for a candidate with solid capabilities across Excel, for analytical purposes, whilst also being familiar with Oracle Hyperion and/or SAP ERP-type platforms. The client envisages applicants being able to deliver within deadline-driven environments whilst also being able to add a strong commercial and planning capability to the business. Applicants should also be ready and eager, to deliver and develop within a newly created operational entity, whilst meeting any pressure and demands of the role.
