Financial Analyst

Job description / Role

We are seeking for Financial Analyst for a leading retail/L&E company based in Dubai, you will be responsible for accounting, control, reporting, budgeting and financial analysis for FECs and ULOS across the portfolio, responsible for preparation of consolidated management reports and financial analysis, works closely with management to ensure financial integrity of all units’ operations.

Reporting to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager and you will be accountable for:

Financial control, business analysis and modeling in areas of:
- Merchandise management (Revenues, Gross Margin & EBITDA)
- Store cost and profitability
- Store models for various lines of business
- New projects (valuation, feasibility and capital budgeting)
- Business environment and competitiveness
- Support to FP&A Manager for reporting development
- Active participation in budget, forecast and strategic plan review

Management of processes:
- Periodic review of business KPIs and store operating profitability
- New store approval and IAN process
- Operational benchmarks and scorecards

Management of databases and reporting for:
- Economic indicators and business environment
- Various benchmarking analyses and business KPIs

Presentation and communication:
- Business presentations and reports for various recipients
- Communication with GMs for financial control and business analysis

Store visits for:
- Audit of various operations and asset management parameters
- Audit of

Geographical scope: all countries in Retail territory & consolidated Retail

Requirements

Financial:
- Turnover of nearly 200 million, Capex AED 17 Million and Inventories AED 10 million.
- Understanding of business drivers and key variables for the businesses.
- Requires initiative to generate analytical framework / models to convert raw business data to useful information.
- Responsible for capital expenditure analysis and control.

Complexity:
- Preferably master in finance, business administration or commerce (one of those); acceptable title of bachelor in finance or commerce (CMA, CPA,ACCA or CIMA are plus but not critical)
- Experience in Leisure and Entertainment operations
- Experience in finance department, particularly in financial control is an advantage

Skills
- Languages: English (advanced verbal and writing), Arabic (plus but not critical)
- Sound knowledge of MS Office, particularly modeling in Excel
- Good work organization and team player
- Good presentation skills

- Independent and able to challenge
- Unlimited travel ability within MENA.

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Leisure and Entertainment sector , in particular store and merchandise management
- Knowledge of accounting concepts and some knowledge of IFRS
