Job description / Role
Financial Controller will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations and reporting of our media production group. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in financial management and a strong background in the media and entertainment industry.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute the financial strategy for the media production group, aligning it with overall business objectives.
• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cashflow statements for each entity within the group.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and provide regular financial forecasting to support decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Supervise and mentor a team of financial professionals, providing guidance and fostering a culture of excellence.
• Implement cost control measures to optimize the financial performance while maintaining high-quality services.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, and recommend actionable solutions.
Requirements
• CA/CPA or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field. MBA is a plus.
• 7-10 years of relevant financial management experience, including experience within the media and entertainment industry. Previous experience with Big 4 audit firm is preferred.
Skills:
• Strong background in finance and accounting, with a deep understanding of financial principles and practices.
• Familiarity with the media and entertainment industry, including an understanding of the specific financial challenges and opportunities within the sector.
• Effective leadership and team management skills to lead and mentor financial professionals within the organization.
• Ability to think strategically and develop financial strategies aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.
• Proficiency in conducting financial analysis to identify trends, make informed decisions, and provide actionable insights.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and ability to ensure compliance.
• Strong knowledge and experience with financial software and systems for accurate financial reporting and analysis.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
• MS Excel proficient and building power point presentations and commercial due diligence reports.
