Financial Officer

Job description / Role

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Financial Officer to oversee the financial control function of our banking branches in Dubai. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the implementation and maintenance of robust financial controls, as well as adherence to regulatory and internal reporting requirements in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and guidelines set by the Central Bank of UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Control Management:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive financial control policies and procedures to safeguard the bank's assets and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Conduct regular reviews and assessments of financial control processes to identify weaknesses or areas for improvement and implement corrective measures as necessary.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with audit recommendations.

Regulatory and Financial Reporting:

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of financial reports to regulatory authorities, including the CBUAE, in compliance with regulatory requirements and IFRS standards.
• Stay abreast of changes in regulatory and accounting standards and assess their impact on financial reporting processes, making recommendations for adjustments as needed.
• Provide support and guidance to finance and accounting teams in the interpretation and application of regulatory and accounting standards.

Internal Control and Compliance:

• Monitor compliance with internal policies and procedures related to financial transactions, reporting, and documentation.
• Develop and implement internal control mechanisms to prevent fraud, errors, and non-compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular training sessions for staff on financial control procedures, compliance requirements, and changes in regulations.

Requirements

• To be considered for this opportunity, we are seeking an experience finance and accounting professional with at least 3 years of UAE Banking experience with a solid understanding of local corporate Tax and VAT laws and regulations.
• In addition, applicants who apply must have a strong understanding of MIS function policies and procedures with experience in financial reporting & regulatory reporting are in accordance with IFRS and CB Prudential Regulations.
