Food & Micro Biology Laboratory Manager

Job description / Role

* Providing overall laboratory management, development and growth the Food and Micro Biology Laboratory within parameters defined by senior management.
* Managing and overseeing testing activities to ensure analysis is carried out to a high degree of accuracy and quality in conformance with established methods, instructions and quality standards.
* Using market analysis, budgetary input and operating know how to develop strategic business plans, with the aim of growing a profitable business locally as well as regionally.
* Work together with relevant management and other business units to initiate business development opportunities to ensure continual improvement of the business.
* Monitor and report of local business progress on a regular and accurate basis following company policies.
* Continual assessment of processes to develop and implement improvement/efficiency measures into the laboratory
* Personnel management and coordination including but not limited to organising coverage, training & development, recruitment and retention.
* Ensure compliance with local regulation/legislation, HSEQ and Company policies
* Oversee systems management, in house procedures and housekeeping requirements for the Laboratory.

Requirements

* Post-Graduation Degree in Science (specializing in Chemistry & Microbiology)
* A minimum of 8-10 year’s experience, of which at least 5-6 years have been spent in a managerial capacity, in a Food & Mirco-Biology Laboratory testing facility.
* A self-motivated and committed individual, with strong leadership skills to lead a large multicultural team
* Ability to build and maintain client relationships
* Possess strong communication, team building, and problem solving skills,
