We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced freelance trainer on the company to conduct specialized training sessions and workshops for individuals and organizations involved in the maritime transport of dangerous goods. The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code is essential for ensuring the safe and secure transportation of hazardous materials by sea, and we need a skilled professional to impart this crucial knowledge to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct training sessions on IMDG for various target groups, including shipping companies, freight forwarders, port authorities, and personnel involved in dangerous goods transportation.
• Design interactive and engaging training materials that effectively convey IMDG concepts, including the classification, packaging, labeling, documentation, and handling of hazardous materials.
• Utilize various teaching methodologies, such as presentations, case studies, group activities, and practical demonstrations, to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of the IMDG Code and its updates, keeping abreast of any regulatory changes or amendments.
• Ensure that all training content aligns with the latest IMDG guidelines and international standards for the safe maritime transport of dangerous goods.
• Provide practical examples and real-life scenarios to illustrate the application of IMDG principles in different shipping contexts.
• Collaborate with clients to assess their specific training needs and customize training programs accordingly.
• Address client inquiries, clarify doubts, and provide expert guidance related to IMDG regulations and their implementation.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of the training programs and the knowledge gained by participants.
• Prepare detailed training reports, identifying areas of improvement and recommendations for future sessions.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to IMDG and dangerous goods transport.

Requirements

Requirements:

• Extensive expertise and practical experience in IMDG and the safe maritime transport of dangerous goods.
• Proven track record as a trainer or instructor, with excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design techniques.
• Ability to adapt training content to suit the needs of diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in preparing training materials.
• Proficiency in using multimedia tools and technology for training delivery.
• Flexibility to travel and conduct on-site training when required.
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in dangerous goods handling and IMDG training would be advantageous.
