Furniture Spray Painter

Job description / Role

A furniture spray painter is responsible for painting or refinishing furniture using spray painting techniques. They must have knowledge of different types of paints and finishes, as well as experience with various types of furniture materials. They must also have an eye for detail and be able to produce high-quality finishes.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting: A furniture spray painter must properly prepare the surface of the furniture before painting. This includes sanding, filling in any imperfections, and ensuring the surface is clean and free of dust.
- Select appropriate paint and finish: The spray painter must have knowledge of different types of paints and finishes to choose the right one for each project. They must also be able to mix colors to achieve the desired shade.
- Operate spray painting equipment: Furniture spray painters use specialized spray painting equipment to apply paint to furniture. They must be skilled in using these tools and able to adjust settings for different types of surfaces.
- Apply paint: The main responsibility of a furniture spray painter is to apply paint to furniture using the spray gun. They must have a steady hand and be able to produce smooth, even coats of paint.
- Ensure quality finish: The spray painter must pay close attention to detail to ensure a high-quality finish. This may include correcting imperfections or touch-ups as needed.
- Clean and maintain equipment: Spray painting equipment must be properly maintained to ensure it is in good working condition. The spray painter is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the equipment after each use.
- Follow safety protocols: Furniture spray painters must follow safety protocols when using paint and spray equipment. This includes wearing protective gear and working in a well-ventilated area.

Salary:
AED 1,200 to 1,600 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a furniture spray painter or in a similar role
- Knowledge of different types of paints and finishes
- Familiarity with various types of furniture materials
- Ability to mix colors to achieve desired shades
- Skilled in using spray painting equipment
- Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality finishes
- Basic math skills for measuring and mixing paint
- Physical strength and stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy furniture pieces
- Familiarity with safety protocols for working with paint and spray equipment
- Good communication and time-management skills.
