Job description / Role
Our client is an international shipping company with a global network of offices and partners. They are currently in need of a Temporary Accountant to join them on a long term temporary basis and support the finance department by handling the full cycle of accounting duties.
Responsibilities include payment management including reviewing all bills/invoices to ensure they are correct, valid and properly authorized, capturing invoices to the accounts system and accounts payable reconciliations. Reconciling monthly bank statements and monitoring of cash flow and maintaining the fixed assets register. Additionally, the Accountant will ensure that the general ledger accounts are debited or credited accordingly and that necessary journal entries are prepared and entered. There will also be monthly reporting by way of preparation of trial balance, analysis of trial balance and make any necessary adjusting journal entries to correct discrepancies, balance sheet preparation and income statement and the creation of schedules and notes in support of monthly accounts.
Requirements
We are looking for the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines; someone who is highly organised with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to analyse and solve problems with minimal supervision. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Office Applications is integral. This role is a long-term assignment and is offering AED 4000/- per week. Candidates who are on their own sponsorship will considered only.
