Job description / Role
The General Manager will be P&L responsible for the business across the Middle East and emerging markets.
Reporting to the EMEA Director, the General Manager will be primarily responsible for the following:
- Holding P&L accountability for business across the Middle East and emerging markets
- Leading all business functions such as sales, distribution, retail, marketing, purchasing and stock control in line with the requirements of the market and the global organisation strategy.
- Developing the retail, wholesale and franchise strategy for the Middle East region and emerging markets
- Working closely with the franchise partners , distributors and key accounts in the region to effectively implement the brand's operating strategies and programs in the region.
- Driving the cost control agenda to ensure the operation cost to sales are within the defined budgeted parameters and improved through productivity initiatives.
- Acquire , build, engage and retain a high performance team that is a match with the company's culture and values
Requirements
- Current or previous working experience in the Middle East
- Strong sales background across retail and wholesale in the sporting goods industry ; candidates with experience in fashion lifestyle brands will be considered
- Evidence of achieving results with limited resources
- Must possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit with a results-driven attitude
- Proven track record of profitability and growing a business
- Experience of successfully managing a team
- Bachelor Degree educated
- Must possess outstanding leadership skills , be a strong team player and role model the brand's cultural values
