Your new role
We are looking for a Generalist Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to contracting payroll and budgets. Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping, credit controlling and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes. Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity and cash flows of our business, while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax regulations. Working as a key member in a team of 4, you will be an integral contributor to the succession of the Finance support for the office.
In this role you will be required to
• Support accounting transactions
• Support the contracting payroll cycle
• Contracting cash analysis
• Overview the contracting debts are paid in a timely manner
• Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter and in person within agreed timescales
• Assist the team in preparing budget forecasts
• Vendor management
• Request branch/operational interaction in cases where the payment is delayed and client is not responding positively
• Prepare adhoc reports.
• Handle disputed invoices and negotiate, once authorised, to bring payment within the agreed terms
• Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Ensure timely bank payments
• Entering Invoice and credit notes on NAVISION
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
• Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
• Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
• Audit financial transactions and documents
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
• Comply with financial policies and regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need to succeed
• Work experience as an Accountant in a contracting company
• Full or part qualified ACCA/CA/CMA/CIMA or minimum of a Degree qualification in Accounting or Commerce
• Hands-on experience with basic accounting software
• Payroll & Credit Control experience
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Experience with general ledger functions
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
