Employment: Full Time

Geologist for a Leading Oil and Gas Company in Sharjah

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Work within an integrated team who are responsible for all exploration and development activities of the company
• Build and maintain static reservoir descriptions for multiple reservoirs;, be responsible for updating reservoir models for its existing fields
• Reservoir characterization studies
• Carry out Log analysis, mapping, sequence stratigraphy and conceptual geological modeling. Provide input to field development planning
• Assist with well planning and well site geologist duties, including creating well targets, preparing geological prognoses in the office or onsite when needed
• Making well correlations, generating and updating all relevant maps for reservoir characterization, reservoir management, and for further infield and exploration drilling.
• Regularly attend meetings including internal project meetings, meetings with third parties and external contractors and service providers.
• Development and production of reports where appropriate.
• Presentation of geological material where necessary.

Candidate Profile:
• Open to any nationality
• Male/Female

Qualifications:
• B.S. Hon degree in Geology or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in petroleum exploration or development geology or related Industry
• Practical experience in reservoir characterization, reservoir modeling, prospect generation well planning, drilling operations, coring and logging
• Strong knowledge of seismic acquisition and interpretation of 2&3D seismic data
• Knowledge of Petrophysics and understanding of LWD and wireline log interpretation
• Familiar with drilling operations and logging operations
• Experienced with applications that are used for conducting reservoir development studies (PETREL, Kingdom)
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
• Excellent presentation skills
• Strong IT, numerical and computational skills in order to handle large data sets
• Extensive observational skills, analytical, project management skills and problem-solving skills
