GIS/CAD Technician

Job description / Role

• To coordinate the provision of an effective and consistent CAD & GIS service to stakeholders and external clients.
• To complete assigned tasks from the Team Leader
• Analysis and manipulation of CAD data
• To produce all drawn information for the underground utilities and improvement works
• Preparation of engineering drawings using Auto CAD, sketches and figures
• Adherence to the Project’s CAD manual and quality procedures
• Responsible for arranging the installation and updating of any CAD & GIS related software and/or hardware as required.
• To regularly monitor and review any innovation and developments within the construction industry taking into account service requirements.
• Produce site plans, area maps and service plans using ordinance survey, GIS mapping systems and various statutory service providers
• Attend site meetings to assess requirements in conjunction with client/projects team
• Create and maintain the drawing database and other associated computerized records
• Design and produce project drawings ensuring Building Regulations and Government recommendations and industry best practices are adhered to.
• Assist in the preparation of project documentation to achieve deadlines.
• Adopt a flexible approach to provide cover when another staff is absent.
• Assist with and encourage the ongoing development and improvement of service delivery
• To professionally represent ECS Global when dealing with customers, stakeholders, and all other business contacts.

Salary:
AED 4,000 to 5,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

• The candidate must have a University Degree or at least a 3-year diploma in a related field
• A minimum of 3 years demonstrable knowledge and experience of Auto CAD packages to design and produce construction drawings
• With an experience in underground utilities and associated works is preferable
• The ability to work individually as well as on a team
• Excellent communication skills
• Possess a strong work ethic, solid problem solving, decision-making skills and creative thinking
• Ability to work without excessive supervision
• The ability for self-checking & correction.
• Able to produce quality work to the required standard.
• Able to comply with CAD standards & quality assurance requirements
• Proficiency in developing 3D models and producing drawings using Revit, desirable but not essential
• Is reliable and able to use initiative
• An understanding of CAD/GIS interoperability and GIS technology would be beneficial
• Arabic speaker is a plus
