Global Construction Manager - Electrical & Mechanical

Job description / Role

Role Summary:

- The Global Construction Manager will be responsible for the functional execution of all electrical and mechanical construction activities for assigned projects within the Center of Excellence "Large and Complex Turnkey EPC Projects".
- This responsibility is in accordance with the overall targets (Safety, Staffing, Planning, Quality, schedule, Cost and Delivery) defined for each project.
- The incumbent will be based out of Dubai and part of GE Power Grid Solutions Business .

Essential Responsibilities:

- Active participation with project teams from tendering and planning to complete project handover.
- Responsible for development of the construction execution plans with support from respective Project Site Managers.
- Critical contribution in the construction and commissioning portion of project proposals.
- Engagement in the qualification and selection of installation subcontractors as per project scopes.
- Support in the development of the cost estimate on project proposals for commodity installations.
- Supporting various site teams in resolution of actions and issues with the project team to achieve schedule assurance.
- Ensure reporting activity on either a weekly, biweekly or monthly basis during project implementation.
- Ensure goals and objectives set by Global Functional Leader are implemented and achieved for each project Construction/Site Manager assigned.
- Monitor project site achievements of KPI's.
- Continuously enhance customer relationships and assure business credibility and differentiation with employees, customers and other stakeholders
- Demonstrate strategic and tactical knowledge to deliver excellence and drive continuous improvement and compliance -
- Identify, review and elevate high risk proposals and projects; ensure rigorous risk management processes are implemented to limit exposure and maximize project results

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Strong experience field site management experience within EPC construction/commissioning functional role
- Background in civil works, electrical works, erection of equipment and commissioning.
- Strong organizational capacity and Planning - scheduling experience
- Experience contract negotiations with subcontractors
- Results driven management style.
- Experience of international projects and management of multicultural teams.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the Middle East, Africa & Europe

Desired Characteristics:

- Experience interacting with international EPC
- International commissioning experience in various markets
- Demonstrates ownership and accountability, judgment and decision making and has passion for the role and developing team
- Global experience and mindset including high cultural competence maturity and sensitivity
