Group CFO - Aviation

Job description / Role

This is a brand new role for an experienced Group CFO, from the aviation / aerospace industry. This CFO will work closely with CEO to drive and deliver top results, also overseeing 2 remotely based CFOs in Russia & Italy.

Responsibilities

• Assist the CEO and management team in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
• Engage closely with other senior business managers advising, supporting, and challenging their department activity in e.g. budgeting, cost control, technical, operations, procurement, HR, sales, and marketing.
• Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
• Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
• Oversee the preparation of reports on the overall performance of the company’s business for the CEO, Chairman, and Board
• Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
• Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
• Develop and coordinate effective financial, accounting and international tax strategies to maximize shareholder value
• Review and approve the consolidated annual audited financial statements, budgets and monthly/quarterly reports for the company and its subsidiaries for disclosure to shareholders and to the Group as well as specific reporting for statutory purposes
• Prepare and present the budget and financial performance of the company and its subsidiaries supported with a complete understanding of the underlying assumptions and inputs
• Prepare and present the analysis and input on the evaluation of capital projects
• Review and validate the preparation of financial reports of the company and its subsidiaries for financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, trend and results analysis
• Assist in the company and its subsidiaries’ internal audits and annual external audits and maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
• Oversee subsidiaries’ treasury-related activities with respect to cash management to maximize returns
• Closely monitor and manage working capital requirements on an ongoing basis
• Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations
• Manage and maintain external relationships with:
• External Auditors
• Banks & other financial institutions
• Suppliers and Distributors

Salary:
AED 60,000 to 70,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

• The candidate will be a fully qualified accountant who has a business management background with 15-20+ years of progressively responsible experience (CPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent and preferably an MBA in Finance)
• At least 5 years of experience in partnering with an executive team in manufacturing, engineering and aerospace related business
• Strong understanding of commercial, international trading, treasury and regulatory matters
• Experience with the day-to-day financial operations of a medium to large company or division of a large corporation
• Must have working knowledge of IFRS reporting standards, and Russian/Italian Taxation System would be an added advantage
• Must have a high level of written and oral communication skills in English
