We are looking for a big leader experienced in managing Last Mile (LM) to develop the capability for Chalhoub Group across the GCC. As a key member of the Supply Chain & Operations team, your primary role is to delight our customers by giving them a great delivery experience. You will work with external Deliver Service Providers (DSP)s, our in-house delivery service and internal stakeholders to ensure that we are successful. You and your team will be coordinating and collaborating daily with the fulfillment centers, stores, functions within the brands including Customer Service and Marketing, and the Delivery Service Companies (DSP)s.

What you'll be doing:

Negotiating

- Selecting and negotiating the best services with the best costs on behalf of the Chalhoub Group and in line with the service expectations of the brands

Developing our LM Strategy

- As part of our Supply Chain & Operations transformation journey, we need to develop a clear LM strategy and roadmap for the group. This will encompass developing solutions for cross-border shipping/managing dangerous goods
- Getting key internal stakeholder alignment/sign off on the LM strategy
- Collaborating internally and externally, lead the implementation of the strategy for the group

Performance Management

Capacity Management

- Coordinating with all the brands the expected daily/weekly volumes so that we understand our DSP capacity requirements at any time of the year
- Ensuring that the DSPs are allocated volumes that they can cope with to ensure they can meet the delivery promise
- Ensuring that we are lowering our cost by shipping the most volume in as few vehicles as possible across the various DSPs
- Managing and developing our in-house LM delivery service

SLA Management

- Developing the performance metrics and dashboards so that there are no black boxes and performance metrics will be visible to all
- Managing the day to day activities through metrics and ensure each DSP is successfully meeting its commitments.
- Managing the overall performance of DSPs including partnering with them to improve their performance over time
- Being able to manage performance locally in particular in KSA

Technology Integration

- Managing the internal LM Carrier Management System
- Leading the integration of our internal technology and those of the DSPs that will enable us to: (1) manage our outbound volumes at scale via technology (2) we always have insight on their performance so that we can mitigate risks in a data driven way

Billing

- Verifying the invoices and ensuring that we are only billed as per what has been agreed in the contracts (as of today, the invoices are checked by each brand and we have strong beliefs that they are not cross checked)

Requirements

What you need to succeed in this role:

- Master's degree
- This leader has 10+ years of experience in the logistics industry.
- This leader has experience influencing and interacting with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in leading teams and managing direct reports.
- A history of developing strong, value-add partnerships.
- Ability to effectively work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities.
- Ability to handle and prioritize when presented with a high volume of engagements.
- Excellent communications skills and a high bar for accuracy and detail.
- Proven track record of managing multiple priorities.
- This leader can work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

Preferred:

- Business Development experience
- Program Management experience
- Experience in the parcel delivery or express delivery sector
- Experience in Fleet Management
