Harbour Master

Job description / Role

Our client is the NOC for Abu Dhabi. Due to an increase of new ventures, projects and activity, a Harbour Master is required to join the logistics division of the subsidiary company running marine and drilling operations and support activities.

The purpose of the role is to ensure the safe passage and movement of all vessels within the defined area of remit, directing the in and out shipping activities around the port limit. This will involve the operation of rescue activities, directing daily crew and ship movements, ensuring passenger safety when embarking/disembarking and ensuring all company activities are carried out in line with stringent safety procedures.

Key to the role will be the delivery of frequent risk assessments and keeping these updated, alongside provision of expertise to offer technical solutions to marine based issues.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Masters Mariner certificate of competency and have experience as a senior officer on board vessels. Offshore experience mixed with extensive port operational knowledge is highly preferred.

Also required is a fluency in English and Arabic, alongside holding a ISPS Certificate
