Hard Services Facilities Manager

Job description / Role

Candidates who meet the following criteria will be considered:
• 7 – 10 years’ hard services and engineering management experience in retail and F&B outlets and shopping malls
• BEng in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering
• Fluency in English and Arabic and currently living in the United Arab Emirates.

Client Profile:
• Our client is a well-renowned retail operator and we are recruiting an experienced hard services Facilities Manager from the UAE retail industry to join their Abu Dhabi team to oversee the facilities management activities, projects and specialist service contracts within the mall and associated buildings ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.

The Role:
• Oversee all hard services facilities management contractors to ensure contractual compliance to design and specifications and HSE regulations, investigate and report on variations and delays, monitor asset snagging, handover inspections and liaise with tenant’s contractors and consultants for project completion and corrective measures against KPIs and SLAs.
• Participate in reliability engineering and reliability centered maintenance for preventative maintenance projects, prepare progress and department reports and scope of work and BOQ for building modifications and renovation.
• Coordinate maintenance and engineering works with store management, tenant representatives and contractors.
• Assist in implementing FM policies and quality management systems.
• Approve contractor FM related technical bids and initiate the purchase of hard services materials and equipment.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience Required:
• 7 – 10 years’ hard services and facilities engineering management experience in retail and F&B outlets and shopping malls with a strong background in contractor liaison, vendor management, MEP asset management, and site inspections.
• Excellent working knowledge of Primavera, AutoCAD, PF Curves, CAFM and / or CMMS systems and building structure, technical and shop drawings.
• Working knowledge of commercial buildings’ sustainability and energy management.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen to prepare and manage budgets and negotiate contractor terms.

Education & Certification:
• BEng in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering
• Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP) Certification is an advantage

Candidate Profile:
• Arabic male currently living in the UAE, preferably Abu Dhabi.
• Fluent in English – must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
• Fluency in Arabic is mandatory – must be able to read, write and speak fluent Arabic.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
