Head Barista Trainer

Job description / Role

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver comprehensive barista training programs, focusing on specialty coffee preparation techniques and customer engagement.
• Conduct regular workshops and sessions on manual brewing methods, espresso making, latte art, and other specialty coffee techniques.
• Implement sensory evaluation training to enhance coffee flavor understanding and quality assurance.
• Ensure accurate equipment calibration and maintenance for optimal coffee brewing.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement among the barista team.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and integrate innovative practices into training programs.
• Collaborate with management and other teams to align training with company goals.
• Ensuring up-to-date and relevant training environments.
• Adapt teaching methods to cater to various learning styles, including theory, practical, sensory, and visual techniques.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in specialty coffee, including barista training.
• Proficient in various manual brewing methods and espresso techniques.
• Strong knowledge of sensory evaluation and coffee quality standards.
• Experienced in equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Passionate about coffee and customer service.
• SCA certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and different skill levels.
• Experience as an SCA Authorized Trainer (AST) is preferred but not mandatory.
