Head Chef

Job description / Role

The candidate will aim to capture the constantly changing environment of a Food Truck. The menu will be small but creative. The common denominator is flat bread which will be the base of menu item. The flat bread toppings can be customized but there will be 5 – 7 signature sandwiches available. There will also be fresh juices sold. The head chef will also be taking on the role as manager and will be solely responsible for the managerial roles.

Nationality is not very important but the candidate must have a vibrant personality that can carry the brand - tattoo’s and long hair is rather preferred.

Job Description:
- Creating a sandwich menu
- Create and innovate list of sandwiches and juices
- Developing a suppliers list for all items required in the kitchen
- Developing and training the kitchen team in accordance to the brand standard operating procedures
- Assist in the recruitment and hire staff including cooks and other Kitchen workers
- Scheduling rota’s and establishing performance measures
- Ensuring food costing standards are met and wastage is kept within the industry limit
- Conducting inventory spot checks including monthly stock taking
- Establishing recipes and methodology cards for each item on the menu
- Ensure highest standards of hygiene are met
- Participate in creative thinking for ongoing menu development

Requirements

The candidate pre-requisites to qualify must include but are not limited to:
- Has a relevant and extensive experience in a sandwich shop or food truck that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week with takeaway and a delivery options available.
- Advance understanding of Professional cooking and Kitchen skills.
- Knowledge of Food Safety and HACCP
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment and services, ordering and inventory control
- Must be willing to work in Abu Dhabi
- Be a leader and team player
