Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development: Evaluate and implement the ESG and CSR strategy in line with The Apparel Group's vision and values. Develop short-term and long-term goals for ESG and CSR initiatives.

Materiality Assessment: Conduct an updated materiality assessment and adapt the current strategy accordingly.

GHG Emissions & Road to NetZero: Perform yearly calculations of the company's emissions, establish our journey to NetZero

KPIs: Establish score cards and KPIs that reinforce our strategic objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments and brands within the company to design and execute tailored CSR initiatives aligned with their objectives and priorities.

Sustainability Initiatives: Take the lead in fostering sustainability and environmental responsibility within the company. Suggest, develop, and execute environmental and social initiatives aimed at reducing our ecological footprint.

Community Engagement:

Internal: Lead the Sustainability Committee and Sustainability Champions team, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with every department.

External: Identify and establish partnerships with solution providers, local organizations, NGOs, and community groups to support our strategy, contribute to social well-being and address local needs.

Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with local ESG regulations. Oversee the development of the yearly ESG Report, managing the entire process from tendering to data gathering, drafting, and designing.

Stakeholder Communication:

Internal: Lead the Sustainability Committee and Sustainability Champions team, displaying strong interpersonal skills to work with every department.

External: Identify and establish partnerships with solution providers, local organizations and NGOs.

Effectively communicate our projects to both internal and external stakeholders, including customers, employees, suppliers, and the general public.

Innovation: Continuously explore creative and innovative approaches to CSR, seeking new methods to create a positive impact.

Awareness: Continuously enhance employee and leadership awareness about Climate Change and ESG issues.

Budget Management: Effectively manage the allocated budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, Business Administration, or related disciplines).

Proven experience in leading CSR initiatives, sustainability programs, or related roles in the retail industry.

A deep understanding of CSR principles, sustainability practices, and local regulations.

Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate CSR projects.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to develop innovative initiatives.

Knowledge of the retail industry and its social and environmental impacts.

Located in Dubai or willing to relocate.
