Employment: Full Time

Our client is one the premier global banking groups with a presence spanning across Europe, the USA, Middle East, Africa and Asia. Since moving into the Middle East market, they have grown and developed their brand and presence throughout the region and are now placed in an enviable. The Head of Compliance is the critical hire before the end of the year for the Dubai Office.

The Head of Compliance's core responsibilities will include the following:

* Manage the compliance team.
* Review all the existing compliance controls for the current businesses to ensure that current controls address all current regulatory requirements.
* Deal with all regional regulatory contacts and associated activities in accordance with the Global Regulatory Contact Policy.
* Apply and provide advice locally on all global compliance policies applicable to the regional businesses
* Devise and implement a local compliance monitoring programme to address regional regulatory requirements and work with the Head of Monitoring and Oversight to implement a monitoring programme on the global policy requirements.

Requirements

* Extensive experience of working in a leading international wealth management business.
* Practical and hands-on experience of working in the Middle East and a sound understanding of the business culture throughout the different regions.
* 5-7 years professional compliance experience, preferably within an established regulatory framework (i.e. FSA, DFSA)
* An astute and commercial approach to Compliance. The ability to challenge and influence senior management and to manage pressure situations
* A legal background would be advantageous, as would knowledge of Arabic. These are, however, not necessities. The position will enable the successful candidate the rare chance to have a real and tangible impact in a global player.
