The power, process & nuclear division works within four main sectors which include the following: - nuclear, defence, industry and process and power civil's. We have a successful and distinguished track record of delivering innovative and robust solutions to the standards required by the nuclear industry. The division has long standing relationships with some of the key clients in this sector.

We are actively seeking a head of construction - electrical, control and instrumentation (ec&i) to join our client based onsite near Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a specialist nuclear organisation. This would be for a period of 12 months with possible extensions.

* Provide safety, quality and schedule supervision for all permanent and temporary plant ec&i equipment installation and erection, which includes but is not limited to, conduit installation, cable tray installation, grounding and cathodic protection systems, cable pulling, cable terminations, cable epoxy splicing, junction box installation, panel installation, security systems, distribution control systems (DCS), control room installation, instrument calibration, instrument installation and connection, building small power and lighting, building IT systems, checkout and test of all wires.
* Define and recommend suggestions to help make decisions that meet project objectives.
* Recommend corrective actions or methods of repair for any deficiency or non-conformance identified in order to ensure work is carried out in an adequate and correct manner.
* Monitor project safety objectives and implement the appropriate corrective action where necessary in order to ensure that all relevant objectives are fulfilled.
* Provide support to the senior construction manager for the review of contractor construction methods, materials, equipment, technical queries and work sequences.
* Provide support to the senior construction manager for the co-ordination of the space allocation programme requests for access to contractors.
* Provide support to the senior construction manager to facilitate all interface and progress meetings with contractors, stakeholders as well as producing all necessary, relevant progress reports.
* Coordinate movement of contractors equipment, laydown areas on site and access and egress routes.
* Take the necessary initiatives aiming at establishing, implementing and maintaining the supervision of ec&i construction activities to ensure timely project completion.
* Convey and present ideas for the overall project benefit to support goals and objectives.
* Recommend stoppage of work when the required (quality or safety) of work operations are in doubt in order to ensure work excellence and ethics regarding safety measures.
* Ensure that the ec&I construction work is performed in the safest and professional manner to meet overall project objectives in compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
* Supervise the ec&i construction work progress and its alignment with the quality requirements as specified by the engineering design to ensure that objectives are met in a timely manner.
* Support the theme of plan-do-check-act process, reflect this in department procedures, processes and execution of the works.
* Inform and support all issues that may effect on project progress to the senior construction manager.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a diploma with relevant nuclear experience. They must also have a minimum of 10 years relevant experience and knowledge in security system construction and engineering.
