Head of External Communications

Job description / Role

Our client, a leading organization in Qatar is looking for a Head of External Communications who will be responsible for managing and developing the Groups external profile in the media and other channels.

The main duties will include taking responsibility across the following dimensions:
- Shareholder & Financial Budget
- Customer Communications - Internal & External
- Internal Communications - Processes, Products, Regulatory
- Learning & Development

Requirements

- Bachelor degree preferably in Communications and Public Relations, Masters is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a major bank of which at least 4 years in bank in a managerial capacity in a similar function.
- Experience of managing production of print materials: e.g. Press Release, business letters and Annual Reports.

In addition to the following:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic (preferred).
- Ability to absorb technical information and communicate to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of media and industry analyst contacts.
- Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal skills.
- Thorough understanding of communications planning and the ability to develop multi-channel communication solutions targeted to different audience segments/ needs.
- Excellent networking, relationship building skills and the ability to interact with confidence with different cultures, levels and functions within the Group.
- Ability to be involved with highly-sensitive information, using discretion and integrity.
- Excellent written and presentation skills.
