Head Of Financial Crime

Job description / Role

Our client, one of the leading local banks in the UAE is actively searching for a hands-on Head of Financial Crime to join their dynamic team.

- Oversight and execution of AML Investigations work, Transaction Monitoring, Name Screening, Transaction Screening and Trade AML escalations
- The role will lead the Financial Crime Unit in delivering a consistent, best-in-class service to its customer base, and will act as the main point of business contact for all Financial Crime related matters
- Ensure the bank complies with anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering and sanctions legislation
- Provide leadership and day to day management of the Financial Crime team by coaching and providing training to members
- Keeping up to date with developments in Financial Crime regulation and industry best practice, and implementing changes where necessary
- Providing guidance on implementation of the screening system, responsible for the delivery and operation of the ongoing screening process
- Provide guidance, recommendations and support in the development of the framework

Requirements

- 10 years Financial Crime Risk Management related experience (Fraud and AML/CTF) within the Financial Services industry
- Strong domain experience across a variety of Consumer and Commercial Financial Crime environments, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Terrorism Financing
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with differing business units and key stakeholders to provide exceptional service to our external clients
- Strong Financial Crime prevention, detection, monitoring, case management and other risk management systems experience
- Awareness of Financial Crime frameworks, process, controls, prevention systems and technology within a financial services environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
