Head of Market Risk - Banking

Job description / Role

We are seeking an experienced in the UAE Head of Market Risk for a local well-established bank in the UAE. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the incumbent will be tasked with identifying, measuring and monitoring the bank's risk exposure.

Responsibilities:
- Report and monitor various risk types that impact directly and indirectly the bank’s profitability.
- Monitor market risk exposures from the bank’s activities in both core banking activities and exposures arising from financial markets trading covering market price risk, interest rate risk, FX risk and liquidity risk.
- Analyze all market risks including all new financial products and packages including derivatives.
- Responsible for the conception, modelling and monitoring all risks and Stress Test Framework
- Create policies and follow implementation on Market Risk, Liquidity, Stress Testing and Investment
- Restructure the bank’s Market Risk, Asset Liability Management and Liquidity Risk departments and redesign existing systems
- Create and redesign the reporting and reporting workflow with different committees
- Create new Basel III related reports

Requirements

- Finance degree holder and professional certifications highly regarded
- UAE banking experience in market risk with a local bank
- Strong management and communication skills
- Organized, with strong eye for details
- Strong presentation and leadership skills
