Head of Risk - Banking

Job description / Role

We are assisting one of the well-established banking corporations in the UAE who are seeking an experienced Head of Risk to handle operational and market risk.

Responsibilities:
- Provides monitoring and oversight of the Bank's operational & market risk management policies and strategies for reporting purposes to the Senior Management and the Board of Directors.
- Provide monitoring activities and oversight of the enterprise governance structure and risk management framework.
- Provide Senior Management with support and guidance regarding enterprise risk management strategy, initiative, training, risk management activities, policies, procedures, processes and reporting.
- Assess and maintain oversight of enterprise risk governance activities for all portfolios and business channels, analyzing key MIS creating a proactive identification of emerging risk elements that could negatively impact the strategic objectives.
- Assist in the development, implementation and oversight of an enterprise risk management framework

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, MBA ideal
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in the GCC region
- Understanding of lending strategies and business models, especially mortgage, auto, home equity, and personal lending
- Knowledge of credit assessment, credit policy, underwriting, risk management, and portfolio management tools and processes including scoring models and profitability models
- Deep familiarity with relevant regulatory policies
- Experience in focus on quality growth and member service while maintaining an appropriate risk/return balance
- Exhibits excellent analytical, multi-tasking, and time management skills
- Ability to professionally handle confidential matters
