Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The incumbent will be responsible for managing and directing the Operational Risk and IT Security, Market and Liquidity Risk, Credit Risk, Credit Administration, Risk Infrastructure and Remedial and Special Assets activities across The Bank, ensuring that business objectives and strategy are reflected in each of the processes and that related services are delivered in a professional and proactive manner.

The incumbent has the overall responsibility for developing the Bank’s risk management framework, including establishing the risk management mechanisms to identify, assess, monitor, measure and control the broad spectrum of risks, to which the Bank is exposed, within and outside The state. The incumbent will endeavor to constantly implement leading practices pertaining to risk management including but not limited to Basel II/ III pronouncements.

The incumbent will be overall responsible for the development and subsequent implementation of the approved strategies for the sections under supervision in line with the overall Bank strategy.

Detailed Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the formulation of strategy, budgets, policies and procedures of the Operational Risk and IT Security, Market and Liquidity Risk, Credit Risk, Credit Administration, Risk Infrastructure and Remedial and Special Assets to support The Bank’s business strategy.
- Set performance objectives and regularly review performance of the Risk Management functions.
- Ensure that the staff within Operational Risk and IT Security, Market and Liquidity Risk, Credit Risk, Credit Administration, Risk Infrastructure, and Remedial and Special Assets maintain the highest standards of professional conduct, ethics, integrity and control in execution of all their daily operations.
- Provide inputs to the CEO in the formulation of the Bank strategy and implement the same through the business divisions reporting to the incumbent, thereby assisting in the achievement of stakeholder expectations and the Bank’s financial objectives.
- Provide timely, accurate and complete progress reports to the CEO and relevant Management and Board-level committees on the financial and operational progress of all divisions handled.
- Ensure that the Operational Risk and IT Security, Market and Liquidity Risk, Credit Risk, Credit Administration, Risk Infrastructure and Remedial and Special Assets division employees are in compliance with The Bank’s strategic policies and procedures.
- Build close partnerships with local authorities and senior management to build the strategy commitments
- Monitor and review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to address performance issues and maintain alignment with the Bank's strategic business goals.
- Ensure implementation of the Balanced Scorecard concept and practice, by creating effective links to the overall Bank performance across all business lines, departments and sections and ensuring effective implementation diagonally across the Bank.
- Ensure pro-active steps are taken to enable the Bank to move to a more sophisticated/ advanced methods for calculation of capital adequacy in relation to credit, operational and market risk with the possibility to reduce the overall capital requirements.
- Develop the Bank’s overall risk management framework that defines the Bank’s risk appetite and the associated risk rejection, risk acceptance and risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee finalization of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/ sections to achieve improvements in turnaround time.
- Attend Board and Management level Committee meetings and ensure that the decisions taken therein are percolated down the respective business divisions, as applicable.
- Hold meetings with direct reports and assess their performance on a regular basis.

Requirements

University degree in Business Administration with specialization in Banking and Finance and/ or Economics from a recognized university. MBA or Professional Certification such as PRM/ FRM/ CFA is required.

About 15-18 years of related experience of which a minimum of 5-8 years should be in a similar position / responsibility, preferably in a similar Industry.
