Health and Safety Manager

Job description / Role

Our client, a Local Holding Company, is looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join their team in Dubai for the Leisure and Entertainment Department.

- Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented
- Analysing statistical data to ensure key trends are identified and mitigated.
- Being up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all the EHS legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry
- Provide health and safety support, guidance and information to ensure the continued growth, development and compliance of all leisure and entertainment business entities.
- Support the implementation of the organisations on-going health and safety strategy.
- Provide practical health and safety advice and support to managers and their teams.
- Ensure the organisations current health and safety management system remains compliant with BS OHSAS 18001 standard and local legal requirements.
- Conduct health and safety compliance audits across all business units across the MENA region and ensure adequate reports are provided to the H&S director.
- Carry out construction health and safety inspections.
- Deliver health and safety training, including H&S awareness and other selected programs.
- Carry out incident investigations and ensure detailed reports are provided to the H&S Director.
- Develop detailed and compliant health and safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

- Minimum five years experience in the management of health and safety, a solid understanding of construction and engineering aspects (mechanical & electrical) would be an advantage
- Arabic speaker with excellent command of English
- University degree or equivalent in a technical discipline would be an advantage
- Diploma/ Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH) or equivalent
- Build relationships with internal & external stakeholders
- Solid background in H&S
- Middle East Experience as H&S Manager
- Experience in managing a team
- Willing to travel
- Good understanding of construction development
- Experienced in delivering training programs & sessions
- Experience with management system (BS OHSAS –occupational H&S system- 18001 & ISO 14001)
