Job description / Role

Employment: Contract

Working within a University on a fixed term (2 months project) the purpose of the role is to support managers in drafting and developing their policies which must adhere to the rules and regulations within UAE Higher Education. Previous experience in the UAE is essential. 

Areas to be covered will include:

- Policy for Strategic Leadership,
- Continuous Quality Enhancement,
- Curriculum,
- Research and Innovation,
- Human Resources & Faculty Affairs
- Infrastructure Services,
- Admissions,
- Social Responsibility and Engagement

Responsibilities

- Research the specific topic, benchmark against other UAE Universities, international universities, and best practices.
- Ability to evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, decompose the information into details and write a document that is clear, practical, and understandable.
- Able to clearly read, interpret information associated with the related laws, regulations, and draft policy to ensure compliance, review this with the policy owner, adjust and make changes based on feedback.
- Ability to compose Higher Education technical procedures and develop clear concise flow charts of the procedure.
- Ability to evaluate , develop and modify existing policies and guidelines to adhere to the regulators requirements.
- Ensure consistency of expression, logical organization and development, readability, appropriate formatting and conformity of grammar and style.
- Keep records of the policy revision, updates, and deletions

Requirements

Required Experience and Skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present findings and convey complex information in a clear, concise format.
- Excellent Research Skills, Analytical skills to collect maintain, manage, and analyse data.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills combined with creativity and innovation to address difficulties.
- Adept at working independently and collaboratively with other team members on Higher Education topics.
- High Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to absorb information quickly.
- Concise and attentive about documentation and note-taking.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and reach deadlines with minimum supervision.
- Experience in working with UAE government entities.

Qualifications

- At least three years’ experience working in UAE Higher Education writing policy and procedures.
- Knowledgeable and expert in the field of Higher Education and policy.
- Must have Higher Education subject matter expertise, with the knowledge and the ability to decipher ADEK, CAA and MoE standards, stipulations, compliance requirements and then write a clear understandable document that explains the rules related to the regulation.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office skills
