Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Main duties and responsibilities

Employee Relations (ER)
*In conjunction with the Head of HR, EMEA and International HR Advisor, act as first point of contact to support managers with day to day ER issues.; With the guidance of the Head of HR, EMEA take responsibility for ER operational duties across the region including flexible working requests and exit interviews;
*Provide advice and counselling to staff as required;
*Provide support and guidance to Management on ER matters and escalate where necessary.

Recruitment
*Provide proactive support in respect to the recruitment of support staff within the region, ensuring recruitment excellence is maintained at all times;
*Act as the main HR point of contact for all new starter administration with the support of HR Shared Services (HRSS), the Payroll team and Administrative Manager;
*Establish contacts with local recruitment agents and implement and maintain a Preferred Suppliers List (PSL) in conjunction with the central recruitment team based in the UK.

HR Processes
*Take responsibility for ensuring monthly HR procedures and processes are followed and actively seek to implement improvements wherever possible;
*Coordinate the logistics of the annual HR processes and provide support to the Head of HR, EMEA and International HR Advisor.
*Support the Head of HR EMEA and International HR Advisor with the annual promotion processes for the Middle East offices to ensure they are completed in a timely manner.

Performance Management & Appraisals
*In conjunction with the Head of HR and International HR Advisor, ensure the annual performance appraisal process, Aspire programme nominations, 360 reviews and Objective Manager updates are completed in a timely manner;
*Work with HRSS to ensure appropriate records of appraisals and performance management are maintained for the region.


Compensation
*Support the Head of HR EMEA and International HR Advisor with the annual staff salary review process for the Middle East offices.

Trainees / Newly Qualified (NQ)
*Be primary point of contact for all trainee issues, to include working with the Graduate Development team on seat moves and trainee allocations;
*Assist the Graduate Development team with the coordination of the annual NQ process for the region.

Induction
*Deliver the HR induction and ensure smooth running of local induction programmes;
*Review progress of new joiners across the designated teams and regions with Partners prior to confirmation of satisfactory completion of probation periods;
*Ensure new starters are integrated into the Firm;
*Ensure all new joiners within the region have all the necessary arrangements in place, to include but not limited to relevant IT equipment, introductions to the team and familiarisation with the Firms policies and procedures, allocating a "buddy" and departmental know-how;
*Integrating lawyers/trainees whilst ensuring they work effectively with Legal PA's (LPAs), escalating any concerns to the Head of HR, EMEA and/or International HR Advisor.

Other
*Complete checklists for all maternity leavers and returns;
*Analyse and interpret monthly sickness/absence reports as appropriate to identify issues and develop improvement plans where necessary;
*Working closely with the Middle East Operations Partner in providing support on all HR matters; provide regional HR support on projects and initiatives as directed by the Head of HR, EMEA.

Requirements

Relevant Experience
*At least 3 years HR Generalist experience;
*A sound understanding of UAE and QFC labour legislation.

Key Skills
*Robust working knowledge of employment legislation and best practice;
*Experience of advising Managers on policies and procedures in a supportive manner;
*Experience of working in a professional services environment;
*Good listening and problem solving skills.
