HR Business Partner (HRBP), Front Office Clients, MENA

- The role holder is responsible for driving bottom-line business performance through creating an effective, efficient organisation where maximising engaging employees is at the heart of every interaction
- Act as a catalyst, stimulating high engagement through great manager behaviours - including appropriate configuration of people product and processes
- Promote a strengths based organisation, supported by a strong performance culture
- The primary areas of responsibility would include Financial Markets, Corporate Finance and Islamic Banking the geographical responsibilities would extend to UAE and MENAP.
- The role holder would be expected to devise and implement a Strategic People Plan for their areas of responsibility
- Support line managers in configuring and deploying Group people policies, products and processes to drive engagement thereby driving business performance
- Proactively coach leadership teams/management within their area of responsibility both as a team and as individuals to drive business performance through high engagement
- Ensure a robust talent pipeline to meet the future needs of the functions through managers identifying developing and appropriately stretching talent at every level
- Ensure all employee relations concerns are dealt with promptly, in line with relevant country regulations and Group policy and guidance.
- Act as a change agent in driving group and country specific change initiatives with key stakeholders and wider teams
- Manage the annual performance and compensation review for area of responsibility, whilst ensuring financial discipline, driving performance differentiation and cascading of key messages
- Ensure they have a full understanding of the risk and control environment in area of responsibility
- Proactive in seeing regular assurance that areas of responsibility are performing to an acceptable risk and control standard
- Act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness becomes apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated through the relevant committees
- Collaborate with Business HR colleagues on all products e.g. Engagement and Talent Management, to agree stakeholder engagement, drive functional strategies, processes and messages at the Country / regional level
- Collaborate with colleagues across HR (including specialists and HRSSC) to ensure continuous improvement in the function

Requirements

- Experience of being a HR Business Partner at a country / regional level within banking, with front-office coverage preferred
- Understanding of business/functions including key products, key roles, operating model and strategic agenda
- Ability to understand financials (e.g. interpreting financial statements, budgeting, project accounting)
- Ability to develop and implement a Strategic People Agenda
- Understanding of the various HR products and how to implement them within a country/region (e.g. engagement, performance management) to address business issues
- Understanding and practical experience of managing Employee Relations activities e.g., managing redundancies, grievances & disciplinary process and external litigation skills
- Uses knowledge, communication and relationship skills to positively influence key business decisions
- Forms effective relationships with key Stakeholders
- Ability to stand up for what is right, in the face of adversity
- Excellent communication : clear oral and written skills; effective questioning and active listening
- Strong facilitation skills at an individual and team levels
