Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The purpose of the job is to ensure all HR processes (internal & external) are aligned to Serco Global Standards as well as meeting the legislative, business and technical needs of the business (including, HR processes, contracts of employment, standard operating procedures, legal framework, quality assurance, audits, and change control process).

The role is also responsible for the coordination and communication of elements of HR business facing requirements and supporting the notification and updates of Risk on eStrim.

HR Governance Lead reports to the Head of HR Centre of Expertise and works closely with HR Shared Services and Business HR.

Key Accountabilities:
- Own HR process owners list for all HR SOPs and ensure any new and/or updates to SOPs are created/reviewed with all relevant stakeholders, as per Serco standards, including Group.
- Lead the implementation and tracking of compliance to the Global Serco Management System, including any changes to the SMS are reflected in SME SOPs/Processes.
- Develop, govern, maintain and publish the HR documentation library including the HR service catalogue, employee and manager handbooks, SOPs, LWIs (Local Working Instructions) and forms; this includes maintenance of an HR library index and an annual review working with legal and other experts to ensure documentation is fully compliant.
- Ensure system and process documentation is captured, published effectively and governed appropriately.
- Manage appropriate legal support of SME in all areas of employment (including pensions, immigration, ER etc.) and coordinate all legal due diligence for new countries/contracts.
- Provide expert advice to key stakeholders on process changes, issues and challenges.
- Lead on the implementation and business adoption of new / existing HR processes and ways of working that are directly relevant to employees/people managers, including the overall rollout and training plan.
- Develop and manage a robust plan to ensure Governance activities are managed appropriately through to completion
- Manage and support all HR audits across the organisation in collaboration with Business HR and other HR stakeholders as necessary.
- Develop, track and follow-up on HR action register for audits.
- Support the entry and tracking of actions on specific HR risks across the business on eStrim in direct liaison with the HR Management team. Provide reports and updates to ensure actions are on track.
- Prepare and coordinate HR Communications to the business in liaison with Subject Matter Expert to ensure content alignment with need.

Requirements

- Relevant Bachelor degree with Human Resources or Business Management
- 5 - 7 years of experience in a corporate HR environment with exposures to policy/procedure/process development
- Experience in process reviewing and streamlining, LEAN desirable

Knowledge and Skills
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and multi-task and meet deadlines and schedules.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and in speaking and convey complex information in an easily understood format.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, and ability to design and develop HR reporting systems.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Ability to liaise in a professional and persuasive manner with staff at all levels in the organisation.
- Flexibility, excellent attention to detail, ability to identify key issues and manage an environment of regular change.
- Good knowledge of internal business functions and the records they create - specifically around HR
